Welcome to Whimsicals!

With a passion for all things time-worn and well-loved, we strive to design quilt patterns, books and fabric that are reminiscent of a bygone era. We use traditional quilt blocks and add a touch of whimsy to give them a bit of a primitive, folkart style.

By combining cotton fabrics and hand-dyed wool in warm muted tones with simple applique shapes, we've created quilts, penny rugs, punch needle embroidery and hooked rugs that we hope will be a joy for you to make, as well as be food for your creative spirit.

New fabric line coming soon...

Our newest line of fabric, Bread and Butter, should be in the shops soon. It is a group of neutrals that are soft, small prints designed to mix well with any of our previous lines, but they fit right in with all those wonderful Japanese prints too. You can click here to see individual swatches.

Christmas in July?

Start working on those Christmas projects now! Our most recent book, Cabin Fever, will get you in the mood. Several of the projects use the Snow Wonderland fabric line. Check it out on the Books page.
