Whats New

August, 2007

We’ve been extremely busy since last updating our website, as you can see! There is so much to learn about creating and implementing a websiteso please bear with us as we learn along the way.

Threads of Harmony is a book that I published and released in October, 2006 at International Quilt Market in Houston. Many of the projects feature the Harmony fabric line, which began arriving at the shops in March. The projects include a mixture of quilts, wool needlefelting, punchneedle embroidery, wool applique, and there is even a little pincushion that is a great gift for a friend, or even yourself!

Bags seem to be really popular right now and I’ve got two new patterns, Market Bags and Shop Hop Bags, that have been received very well! Each pattern includes two different sizes. The market bag is a large tote that is great for hauling everything but the kitchen sink, while the Everyday Bag is a scaled down version for, well, everyday use! The Shop Hop Bag may look small, but it is roomy enough to carry a wallet, cell phone, and the bare essentials when you go on a shopping spree, and fits right under the arm to keep everything safe. Then, the Belt Bag is a small pouch with enough room to carry a small wallet and cell phone strapped around your waist, or attach the strap to the bag to make it into a shoulder bag!

My newest book, Occasions, was completed and released in May, 2007 to complement the latest line of fabric, Choco-Latte. Although the fabric is not due in the shops until September, there are plenty of projects that could be started now, or use fabric from one of the previous lines. It is a celebration of the small occasions in life, ranging from an anniversary or graduation to seasons of the year.

In the past year, I have found myself with several of my books sold out. They are Journeys and Bits and Pieces. Although I wish that I could reprint Journeys and Bits & Pieces, it is just not possible. But, I still get requests for them, so I have begun taking projects out of each of them and developing them into individual patterns. Check out the Angels All Around, the Hollyhock Pillow, and the Hobo Bags from Journeys right now, but keep checking back for more patterns from these popular books.

And if all of that is not enough, I have several projects in my head just waiting for a chance to become actual quilts or penny rugs to include in my next book, which I hope to have out in October. But in the meantime, I’ll keep working on the website, or painting for the next fabric line, or maybe I’ll just go outside and sit with the birds for a while...
